Extracting Happiness

“The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things.” — Henry Ward Beecher

These were taken at the Dogwood Festival Hot Air Balloon Rally in Perry, Georgia back in mid-April. It was my first time seeing hot air balloons up close and in person, and I’ve always wanted to photograph some.

Something Old, Something New, Something Blogged (Finally), Something Blue

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I posted! April was a whirlwind of getting ready for my niece’s wedding! I planned everything, made all the decorations by hand, directed (well, tried to!) and, along with Brian, photographed the entire thing as well. Whew!

A few of my favorite pictures from the day:

The gorgeous and delicious wedding cake made by my Mama (the bride’s grandmother).

Some of the decorations I made:

My proud brother walking his beautiful daughter down the aisle!

I also made her bouquet of silk daisies.

It was a beautiful day! Windy, lively, and a bit crazy at times, but beautiful! Congratulations, Jessi and Jimmy! Wishing you many years of happiness!
